Some interesting stories I've run across lately:
- The Atlantic reviews the cocktail resurgence, focusing on a Boston bar;
- The Bitter Truth is coming out with a sloe gin!
- About.com's cocktails guide has added this humble site to its blogroll (thanks!);
- Noilly Prat is changing their US formula, and making it the same as their European recipe. (You may want to stock up on the old one, or switch to Vya Dry.) In the WSJ, Eric Felten sounds the alarm (in very entertaining style) warning about the effect on Martinis, and noting that a Lillet-like European flavor profile isn't necessarily what you want for a dry Martini. (I look forward to tasting this next week, and will have a full report);
- A new New York-area distillery! Prohibition Distillery is marking the anniversary of the beginning of Prohibition (I'd rather celebrate the repeal) by announcing their plans to make vodka (and eventually gin and bourbon) within a 100-mile radius of New York City.
